An autonomous UAV platform for targeted pesticide application — reducing chemical usage by 60% while covering 10x more area than manual spraying.
The challenge
Manual pesticide spraying exposes workers to harmful chemicals, wastes product through blanket application, and can't reach difficult terrain. GPS-only drones lack the precision needed for row-level targeting.
The approach
Built a multispectral imaging pipeline that maps crop health in real time, identifying pest-affected zones. The drone autonomously navigates field boundaries and applies variable-rate spraying only where needed, with RTK-level positioning accuracy.
